Quintal De Clorofila (Chlorophyll Backyard) was a folk duo formed by brothers Dimitri and Negendre Arbo in South Brazil. They were part of a scene that started in the 70's and gathered "Gaúchos" (native people from the Pampas: South region of Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina) that played folk music mixing regional sounds and psychedelia and progressive rock.
From this scene very few groups managed to record their music professionally and even fewer managed to release an official album. Quintal managed to release their only album, O Mistério Dos Quintais (The Mystery of Backyards), through a tiny independent label called Bobby Som, in 1983, the label had its focus in Native "Gaúcho" music, this and the fact they had very limited distribution, gave the record a small rotation in Radios and it barely managed to sell its first press, making this one really rare record in its original press.
The duo folk/psychedelic/progressive sound is sewn together by the lyrics, poems written by the duo's father: Antonio Carlos Arbo.
