Depois da sua primeira aventura no infindável universo da música instrumental onde deu a conhecer “Man With a Plan” em 2018, Minus & MRDolly apresenta agora o novo EP “Broken Hearts Make Broken Beats”. Este novo trabalho é o resultado de uma sessão de gravação nos estúdios Groove-Wood promovida pelo João André, (ele que mistura dois dos três originais do EP), à qual se juntaram Hugo Danin na bateria e o Sérgio Alves nos teclados e piano elétrico. Em trio (Minus, Hugo e Sérgio), rearranjaram e exploraram os esboços originais, compostos anteriormente por Minus & MRDolly.

A flutuar, ou como quem diz, com um “pé dentro e outro fora” da sua tão familiar casa que é o Hip Hop, “BHMBB” é o reflexo de algumas referências musicais anteriores a essa casa, onde o “Britfunk” ou o “Broken Beat” servem de exemplo. Este EP pretende casar o caracter acústico da interpretação com o universo estético e eletrónico da música de dança.

“Salame”, “The Break” e “A Thousand Miles”, os três originais que constituem o EP “Broken Hearts Make Broken Beats”, contam ainda com a participação dos percussionistas Manu Idhra e Rui Ferreira, a voz de Mary Raisekings, e o saxofone de Pardal. O tema “The Break” conta com remisturas de Pedro e Max Graef.

Com edição em vinyl, “Broken Hearts Make Broken Beats” é o segundo EP da editora portuense Jazzego.
