Bukowski's poem “The Laughing Heart” served as the inspiration for the album title 'Meaning of Light'. The band, composed by Hugo Hugon (guitar/vocals), João Cardoso (drums) e Vasco Rato (bass) explains:
It is an album that lives between shadows and clarity. We aimed at it to be unresting and surprising amongst tracks, creating contrasts that allow the listener to navigate through darkness and the strength given to us by Light, if we cherish it when it finds us.
We have tried to explore a wide range contradictory emotions. Putting tension and introspection at the light of freedom and lightness, we ramble between different lyrical and sound landscapes, some heavier and more dense, some more laid back, but always projecting the always-present possibility of freedom, even at the most complex and darkest times.
After their first EP "Garden", released in 2019 and produced by Gonçalo Formiga from Cave Story, 'Meaning of Light' runs a wide spectrum of sounds, from the more introspective folk to grunge and reverberant noise, stepping the grounds of a more light-hearted pop. This release was possible due to the work of Miguel Vilhena, and his detailed process in the album production, helping to construct the whole album sonic
background.
The physical edition, by Pontiaq Records, gains life through the K7 format, that includes link for download and some extras. All material is available since the 30th October in the usual platforms, the same day the band has released one more single: "Light", with a videoclip.

Bio:
It was in Lisbon that two friends, Hugo Hugon (vocals/guitar) and João Cardoso (drums), founded the band Too Many Suns. The seed was planted in DIY studio in the heart of Lisbon, and within a few weeks they created the five songs that gave rise to their first EP "Garden", produced in partnership with Gonçalo Formiga from Cave Story, in his home studio in the West of Portugal, near the sea.
During the launch of the debut-EP, the next album was already the main focus of the band. With the band new acquisition for the bass Vasco Rato, they worked continuously in their studio on a more-than-a-year quest for the composition of new songs. This meticulous work gave birth to their new album "Meaning of Light", recorded and produced by Miguel Vilhena in pontiaq Records studios. An album that spans many worlds, with songs that go from a more introspective folk to grunge and more reverberant noise, stepping grounds on a more chilled and sunny pop.
After the presentation of Meaning of Light in a 360º concert in TimeOut Studio in Lisbon (5th November), with Pedro Castilho and Duarte Queiroz (Huggs) as guests, it is with the perspective of upcoming shows that Too Many Suns intend to leave their mark in the music scene.
