A partir dos poemas de Miguel Torga, os Lavoisier apresentam um álbum conceptual, composto por e para duas vozes, uma guitarra e várias frequências que traduzem o som encontrado na poesia do escritor natural de São Martinho de Anta, Sabrosa, Vila Real.

Construído a partir da residência artística levada a cabo em terras transmontanas, com viagens inspiradas pelos roteiros que Torga delicadamente traçou, o duo ouviu a melodia escondida na palavra do escritor e partiu em busca do seu significado. Ouviram a terra, o vento, o negrilho e a torga, captaram os seus sons e todo o seu envolvimento com a Natureza, percepcionando o imaginário de um espaço que só Trás-os-Montes consegue dar. Aqui, transformaram paisagens sonoras em poesia cantada, retratando uma viagem de olhar atento sob um “reino maravilhoso”.

O disco conta com a participação dos alunos do Conservatório Regional de Música de Vila Real, que se apresentam como Orquestra Fantástica do Futuro de Vila Real, e do artista sonoplasta João Bento, ambos presentes também no disco.

Composto por 8 temas, foi gravado e misturado por José Fortes, conta com o apoio da Fundação GDA e é editado com chancela discográfica da editora Armoniz.

Viagem a um Reino Maravilhoso (Travel into the Wonderful Kingdom) is the name of Lavoisier's latest album.

It's a conceptual album based on the work of the Portuguese writer and poet Miguel Torga, from the northeast region of Portugal called Trás-os-Montes, that he, so dearly used to refer as a "Wonderful Kingdom" (Reino Maravilhoso).

Built with eight songs, with seven poems , this album was recorded by José Fortes, considered one of the most important sound technician of all times in Portugal, having already worked with names such as: Carlos Paredes, Zeca Afonso and Amália Rodrigues. João Bento (sound and visual artist) and the "Orquestra Fantástica do Futuro" students from the regional Conservatory of Music from Vila Real, have also contributed with their work for tis album.

Released on November 4th, "Viagem a um Reino Maravilhoso" was supported by GDA Foundation and came out by Armoniz label, which have firmed its place in the industry with the reissues of albums like the homonymous "Quarteto 1111" and "Blackground" from Duo Ouro Negro.

Rosa Guitar Trio - Brasiliana [2019]

Rosa’s debut recording, Brasiliana, is a tribute to the ensemble’s early musical influences.

Suite Retratos, composed by Radamés Gnattali and arranged for guitar trio by the legendary Laurindo Almeida, is a suite of four movements which each paint a musical portrait of a different Brazilian popular composer from the 19th and 20th centuries. The EP also features famous works by two of these composers, arranged by Carlos Barbosa-Lima. Escorregando by Ernesto Nazareth is a fast-paced chôro which has quickly become an audience favourite in Rosa’s concerts. Rosa by the great saxophonist and bandleader Pixinguinha is a waltz, with moments of sentimental nostalgia alongside melancholy and tragedy.

Self-released, self-produced, the EP was recorded by Dave Neil in the home-turned-studio of the ensemble’s biggest musical mentor Isolde Schaupp. Brasiliana is not only a tribute to Rosa’s stylistic influences but also their personal ones.

2019 has been a tremendous year for Luís Fernandes, apart from his daily work as an Artistic Director of gnration and SEMIBREVE Festival. He released his first solo album under his own name, “Demora”, on Lawrence English’s Room40 and had a song on the commemorative compilation of The Wire, “The Wire Tapper 50”. He also collaborated with Black Bombaim in the brilliant record “W/ Jonathan Saldanha, Luís Fernandes & Pedro Augusto” and has worked on a new piece with his longtime collaborator, the pianist Joana Gama, called “Texture & Lines” with the Portuguese ensemble Drumming GP. 2019 ends with another release, “Seis Peças Sintetizadas”, the first CD release of Holuzam.

Luís Fernandes decided to approach improvisation in two different ways in his 2019 releases. In “Demora” he works with a modular synth and he accepted the immediatism of his improvisation. For “Seis Peças Sintetizadas” he used the same synth and an organ but let his ideas slow cook for a while and allowed them to change...  more

It is important to know that what drives you to repeat patterns is only a few fragments of what you missing or achieving as time goes by while we keep growing up, when everything's compressing you out to a new transformation, do not deny it, let it take place to occur on its own time as more will keep approaching and pushing you further, closer to become blended.'

It is made of the interaction moments between the members, exploring the concepts of individual and collective improvisation.
