Released in 1974, Scarlatti: Guitar Sonatas (also known as Douze Sonates) features 12 keyboard sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti, transcribed and performed by the renowned Cuban guitarist and composer Leo Brouwer. 

Album Overview

Originally published by the French label Erato as part of the Florilège de la Guitare series (Vol. 17), the album is celebrated for Brouwer’s technical mastery and sensitive adaptations for the classical guitar. 

Performance: Brouwer used a 1973 guitar crafted by Daniel Friedrich.

Visuals: The cover features the painting "La Noce" by Francisco de Goya.
