Original release date: 1974
Country: Brazil

About:
Som Nosso De Cada Dia was formed in São Paulo in 1972 and amidst the line up was Manito (keyboards, violin, saxophone), a superstar in the 60s Brazilian rock music scene having being part of the seminal group Os Incríveis.
After parting ways with Os Incríveis and searching for more adventurous paths he found in Pedrão Baldanza (bass, vocals) and Pedrinho (drums, vocals) the ideal partners.

After 2 years rehearsing they signed with Continental and released the seminal album Snegs. The group was a smash hit having even opened for Alice Cooper shows in Brazil in 1974. But the record suffered from lack of resources both in the recording (the studio was a semi-professional studio) and in the final cut of the vinyl. The original press suffered from distortion and lack of depth.

The band struggle after the brief success and the label wanted a different approach, both Pedros were already into Black music and they went along with it, Manito then left the band. A second album, Som Nosso, was released in 1977 but the lack of unity made the band fall apart.

In in the late 80s a new edition of the album was released in LP and even though it wasn't remastered, the cut of the vinyl didn't suffer.
In 1993 the trio gathered once again to release Snegs in CD for the first time. However, the master tapes were nowhere to be found. The label had lost them! The cd edition released in 1994 was the only digital edition we had and it suffered greatly with the lack of clarity.

Fans were lost for hopes of a new and HQ edition, since the masters were lost, but by a miracle realized by Jorge Solano Lopes (that cut together, painfully, many different vinil sources) presented the band with this definitive edition of Snegs.

Unfortunately the original trio is all gone now, but they left us probably the best Prog Rock album ever recorded in Brazil.
